I had emergency surgery to drain the infection. Now I am having some pretty intense pain. I saw my hand surgeon and he said there is absolutely no joint space in my wrist at all. He is recommending the fusion surgery. I am all for getting rid of the pain, so what I want to know is does that really happen? Will I at some point be pain-free? He will do a CMC tightrope on my right thumb at the same time. Not sure how all of this will work.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08192724777049735116noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8533911831400192848.post-64770614947427316902020-02-13T15:35:33.421-05:002020-02-13T15:35:33.421-05:00I thank everyone for the posts. It’s been a great part of my recovery and rehab. I’m very pleased with my straight fingers, and look forward to wearing gloves again. With me, he was saying, slow down, don't do so much... I couldn't. I still struggle with that, even now when my disease is so severe by comparison. <br />It's a bit like the period of time with a brand new baby when you have those days when all you can do is hold them, because they won't sleep, they cry constantly, and just need to be cuddled. Of all the people around the table surely the patient is one of the most important as we're the ones living these diseases, we're the ones the actual experience of them and the knowledge of some of the things we need to improve.
